About the Film

After twenty years of separation from his father, Park Yeon returns home upon hearing of his sudden death. At the funeral, he encounters Park Seung-hwan, a stranger who claims to be his father’s adopted son.

Just before the burial ceremony begins, the body suddenly disappears. Then Park Jae-su—the man everyone believed to be dead—unexpectedly walks into his own funeral. He reveals that he arranged the ceremony himself because he wanted to discover how his family truly felt about him before his death.

As the family gathers to confront him, long-hidden pain, regret and love finally rise to the surface.

Blending family drama with black comedy, Look at the Funeral explores unresolved wounds, generational silence and the complicated meaning of love, family and forgiveness. Set within the intimate world of a traditional Korean funeral, the film shows how grief can become the beginning of an honest conversation among those who remain.
